The work at Londonthorpe Wood is ongoing. Various sustainable transport options were considered, as well as on site cycle routes, off site routes are also proposed to link to surrounding networks. The site is in close proximity to National Trust land, Belton House and Belmount Tower, and the National Trust were accordingly party to the works.
The car park was already in existence and so the transport statement was generally simple to allow for its extension. EAS also prepared and submitted the planning application that included the car park extension, a cycle facility and highway safety improvements for cyclists, as well as some compost toilets.
As well as the planning and assessments, EAS has also prepared the detailed design for the car park extension, associated drainage, woodland routes and the above described off site S278 works. The construction works are due to start in (Summer 2021).
