EAS Transport Planning were originally appointed to prepare the Transport Statement and Travel Plan to inform a 29-unit residential-led mixed-use social housing development complex within Sydenham town centre, originally in 2016, and again in 2020, updating this to 33 residential units.
This scheme initially proposed the redevelopment of the former light-industrial units, including small office building and construction depot at the rear of the site, into two blocks, including a small retail unit at the front of the site, overlooking Sydenham Road, as well as slight amendments to the site access.
The original planning application including 14 car parking spaces, and also involved the support of a Travel Plan process supporting this social housing redevelopment. As car parking provision was below local standards, a car parking survey was necessary to inform the planning process of the potential to use nearby on-street CPZ parking spaces as backup to this reduced provision.
The scheme was later upgraded to a 33-unit scheme through a Minor Amendment application, reducing the proposed on site car parking to 13 spaces, thereby using even further on-street parking allocation. The Minor Amendment scheme was approved in July 2021.
